Dot by Dot" is a looping, evolving light installation. A total of 33 moving LEDs and screens are programmed and animated to create a meditative high-tech experience.
The project is conceived on the theory of "destruction and rebirth. As the name "Dot by Dot" suggests, the work represents how a single pixel dot is repeatedly destroyed and regenerated over time to become a single plane of light.
Although "Dot by Dot" can be considered a technically simple installation, the artist spent a great deal of effort in animating the light and programming the video. As a result, the individual technical devices disappear and the images are seen as an artistic ensemble.
The installation was conceived for the occasion at the Daikanyama art space, but could be expanded to other formats: 360° space, curved walls, increasing the size and number of screens, or reworking the visuals to fit a theme or specific subject matter. The visuals can also be reworked to suit a theme or a specific subject matter.
